The Fluted Floor is manufactured quickly and can be distributed quickly to wherever the bridge project may be. There are various deployment strategies (including modular) available depending on the method of construction and speed required. The Fluted Floor is designed to speed up the completion of any bridge project. This is due to the minimized components required in its deployment and the elimination of propping and temporary formwork.”

The installation of the Fluted Floor System is designed to minimise delays due to construction or extensions within an existing plant or factory. Since the slab does not require any propping, the space below the slab is safe and open for manufacturing operations to continue both during construction and immediately after casting the concrete
Many of the manufacturing environments are extremely harsh, but for the more corrosive environments connual maintenance is of most importance. The permanent formwork of the Fluted Floor consists of galvanized steel which enhances durability and slows down corrosion of the slab. In addion, the concrete can be designed with certain enhancements to greatly improve the durability of the slab concrete.
“The Fluted Floor consists of two independent structural systems being that of the steel permanent formwork and the other being that of reinforced concrete. The slab has large load carrying capabilities due to the design of its geometry which maximizes the utilization of the concrete material in the slab.
“The Fluted Floor regularly spans up to 6 m. It is however capable of reaching even 10 m spans - doing so still without the need for any propping.”

With these two qualities, this prop-less slab system is therefore significantly efficient when it comes to freighting it in large quantities to distant locations.
Within a 6 m shipping container, 800 – 1000m2 of the Fluted Floor system can be packed, stored, shipped/trucked, delivered to site ready for deployment. Since the slab system requires no props or temporary formwork, the number of components requiring transportation planning is also significantly reduced.”
