ALLOW FOR FUTURE RECONFIGURATION

The ability to reconfigure any existing space for upgrading manufacturing process are critical for industrial productivity. The Fluted Floor can readily accommodate, reconfigure and be re-adapted to many sudden changes. Some of the ways in which the slab is reconfigurable and re-adaptable is in the instance where holes are required in the slab or for when the slab requires additional strengthening for heavier machinery.

Should the slab require demolition and removal, this can be carried out with relative ease. The post demolition benefit of the slab is the reusability of the flutes. The Flutes can be used to recast another slab if desired.

REDUCE DELAY

The continual running of a plant or factory is crucial. The installation of the Fluted Floor System is designed to minimise delays due to construction or extensions within an existing plant or factory. Since the slab does not require any propping, the space below the slab is safe and open for manufacturing operations to continue both during construction and immediately after casting the concrete

ENDURING ENGINEERED

Many of the manufacturing environments are extremely harsh, but for the more corrosive environments continual maintenance is of most importance. The permanent formwork of the Fluted Floor consists of galvanized steel which enhances durability and slows down corrosion of the slab. In addition, the concrete can be designed with certain enhancements to greatly improve the durability of the slab concrete.

SAFEST SLAB AROUND

“With safety as a high priority in plants and factories, the design of the Fluted Floor holds safety as one of its highest priorities. This can be seen in the design of the individual components of the system. The number of components required for an entire installation was intentionally minimised in order to lower complexity and therefore lower the risk of human error.

Making the system lightweight reduces the risk with lifting procedures. With one of the bigger hazards being the use of a crane, the Fluted Floor bypasses this necessity and essentially only requires two men for full deployment. When the Fluted Floor formwork has been installed, it serves as a platiorm on which workers can safely walk. Even when the concrete is cast, the Fluted Floor System is designed to bear all the construction loads making it safe for workers to work below the slab without any risk of danger.

LOW SECURITY RISK

With the high security measures implemented for plants and factories, the Fluted Floor helps to reduce the security risk throughout its installation process. Security risks are usually increased with an increase in the number of people involved in projects. The Fluted Floor lowers this security risk through minimizing the personnel required for full deployment (essentially only 2-3 workers are required).

The total amount of components required for the slab installation is minimal. In addition, each of the components that come through the security gates and onto the premises are installed i.e. there are no temporary supports or temporary formwork that needs to be signed in and then further signed out of the plant or factory.
